Alice Scott Hill went home to Heaven on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at age 99. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Scott Merrifield; beloved niece, Sue Burns; grandchildren, Donna Scott Collins (Vince), Jill Scott, Sally Scott, Katie Kendrick, Kristen Green (Phillip), and Tony Merrifield (Sarah); great grandchildren, Taylor Averhart (Zac), Harrison Collins, Gavin Kendrick, Kaymen Kendrick, Alice Le, Anna Le, Emma Smith, Nathan Smith, Karis Green, Lindlee Green, and Aiden Merrifield; one great great grandson, Campbell Averhart; several other nieces, nephew, and other extended family and friends. Alice was preceded in death by first true love and husband, William Houston Scott; second husband, Frank J. Hill; her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin "Sambo" & Jane Scott; and granddaughter, Julie Scott. Alice was affectionately known as "Granny" to everyone that knew her. All she knew was hard work and worked until she was 87 with Sherry at the restaurant. When she was no longer able to work, she still wished everyday that she could. She was loved by many and spent her last days showered with love and attention. It could be said she was spoiled but it was the pleasure of those around her to do so as she loved them so unconditionally. She was so easy to forgive any wrong done to her. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Warrior Cemetery.
