Alida Faye
Dingler
May 27, 1937 — Nov 18, 2022
Warrior
Alida Faye Dingler, 85, passed away surrounded by loving family Friday, November 18, 2022.
Faye was best known for her deep love of her family. She was a hard worker her whole life.
She loved Alabama football, fishing and NASCAR. Faye was a no-nonsense straight shooter, who said exactly what was in her mind. She did not allow anyone to mess with her kids, grandkids, or family, otherwise they would feel her wrath. If she loved you, you were blessed; but if she didn't like you, look out! She was one tough cookie.
Faye had a huge compassionate heart. She was a very giving person and donated monthly to numerous charities. She would send at least $5 each to the wounded veterans' charities, Little Indian School, Hellen Keller Society and too many others to list. They will surely miss her donations.
She was called "mammy" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Faye loved her town and her Alma Mater, Warrior High. She was well known in Warrior for skinning the fences at football games when her son was hurt or refs were doing wrong. She was a one of a kind, tough as nails woman.
Faye is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Missouri Elizabeth Stover; son, Billy Dingler, Jr.; brothers, Joseph Stover, John Stover, Curt Stover and Billy Ray Stover; and sisters, Carolyn Wooten and Patsy Slatton.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Billy Dingler; daughter Liz Love; grandson, Judd Love (Julie); granddaughter, Candice Caldwell (Bobby); great grandsons, Dalton and Dusty Caldwell; sisters, Bobbie Otten and Judy Cooper, daughter-in-law, Robin Dingler; and sisters-in-law, Eunice Stover, Mavis Stover and Bonnie Stover.
Visitation for Mrs. Dingler will be held in the chapel at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home Monday, November 21 from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Mike Ragland will be officiating the service.
Pallbearers are Bobby Caldwell, Dalton Caldwell, Dusty Caldwell, Marty Stover, Keith Stover and Phillip Todd Woods.
