Allen E. Barnwell of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 65.

Allen was born in 1959, in Birmingham, Alabama. He grew up in his beloved Warrior, and was a proud Mortimer Jordan Blue Devil. Allen always loved movies and had a strong interest in filmmaking. Upon graduation, Allen quickly joined the creative industry. He worked on multiple film and television productions in Alabama and Los Angeles. Allen had a genuine talent for lighting and camera operating. He was a true filmmaker, creating motion pictures as a producer, writer and craftsman. Allen was a generous and loyal friend, making new friends everywhere he went. He adored his Alabama Crimson Tide football, spending his spare time watching all the games and smoking meats. The only thing Allen loved more than Alabama football and movies was his family. He was always supportive and caring of both his Alabama family and California families. Allen was an amazing husband and dedicated father, devoting his life to his children.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Edron and Laura Lucille Barnwell; and brother, Charles "Sonny" Barnwell. He is survived by his wife, Kim Percival; children, Sara, Jackson and Brandon Barnwell; and siblings, Robert Barnwell (Linda), Betty Jean Jungeblunt (Dave), and Mary Barnwell.

In loving memory of Allen, there will be a visitation and funeral service held at Hughes Memorial Baptist Church in Pinson, on Saturday, July 5. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris.
