Barbara Ann Brown, age 82, of Hanceville, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024. Barbara always had a very proud, deep love for her family, as well as a passion for reading and fishing. She was a very humble, yet strong-willed and determined woman whom we all love so much. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew and love her. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, James L.D. and Gladys Marie Johnson; son, Lonnie Dale Brown Sr.; and daughter-in-law, Anna Marlene Brown. She is survived by her children, Wanda Green and Danny Brown (Marlene); grandchildren, Maria Griner (Jason), J.R. Green, Mark Brown, Chris Brown (Ann), Elizabeth McGraw, and Lonnie Dale Brown Jr.;  nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. A visitation for Barbara will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Due to the forecasted weather conditions the day of the visitation and funeral service, only the immediate family and pallbearers will be attending the committal service at the cemetery.
