Betty Sue Bennefield, 86, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Betty was born to Harvey and Sue Gordon on June 19, 1936.  She grew up and went to school in Holly Pond.  Betty worked for Southern Natural Gas and eventually retired from there.

She absolutely loved her flowers.  She would spend a lot of time in her gardens and tending to her flowers and bushes.  Betty also liked to read novels and spend time with her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Sue; brothers, John and Donny Gordon and her husband, Edwin Bennefield.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Larry) Roberts; son, Jerry (Becky) Davis; brother Bob (Marlene) Gordon; sister, Linda (Tom) Boyd; grandchildren, Robbie (Brandy) Davis; Andee Hallmark and Nicholas (Laura) Oliver; 4 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:00pm with a graveside service to follow at 2:00pm at South Cemetery in Blountsville.
