Beverly Alice Reid Askew (93) of Tarrant, Alabama, was born on November 28, 1925, to parents Vincent and Alice Reid. She was one of four brothers and sisters.  Ms. Beverly went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, who was very much loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed! As a matter of fact, some people might not even know her first name because she was just " Nanny " to everyone.  She was survived by her Daughter , Barbara Ann Moore (Roy); Grandchildren : Gerald Johnson (Candi), Sonya Ann Moore Goode; Great-Grandchildren :  Deanna Hampton Brakefield (Jeremy), Chris Ruffcorn (Stacy), Danny Johnson (Jenell), Kayla Sheppard (Ryan), Madilyn Ann Goode; Great-Great Grandchildren : Gabby, Devon, Carter, Isaiah, Anthony "AJ", Corbin, Shane, Lilly, and Gabriel "Gabe,"; along with a host of family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her Parents : Vincent Reid and Alice Neely Reid; Brothers : Lonnie Reid and Arlyn Reid; Sister :  Margaret Herring; Daughter : Doris "Dee" Marie Hampton (Perry); Granddaughter : Sandra "Sandy" Johnson.  She was an active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church. If you knew Ms. Beverly, you knew how much she loved life, most of all, her family and a little thing called Alabama Football.  She might not could see the TV but she sure enjoed listening to BAMA Roll!! She was an independent and outgoing woman who didn't like to sit around doing nothing.  She was the type that was going to give you a hug with a big smile and always, always told you that she loved you.  Something else you might not know about Ms. Beverly, is that she out-lived every member of her family by thirty years, most of whom passed away from heart disease.  It was double pneumonia not her heart that took her home.  For many years, doctors have tried to find something wrong with Nanny's heart and they just could not do it.  It was too full of LOVE!
