Beverly Ann McFarland Smith, age 75, of Pell City, Alabama, formerly of Pinson, Alabama, passed away peacefully, on October 24, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Leanne Norris; her parents, Clifton and Nina McFarland, and her beloved baby sister, Jill McFarland Sloan.

Beverly leaves behind her girls, Tara (Mitchell) Porter, Kim (Chad) Stokes, Sonya (Chris) Bowman, and Angie (Bobby) Foster; her grandchildren Ashley (Daniel) Wesley, Chris Porter, Logan (Olivia) Stokes, Lauren Stokes, Janna McGinnis, Austin Bowman, Nathan Bowman, and Kaitlyn Wright; her great-grandchildren Maddie Grace Wesley, Colt Millwood, Maci McGinnis, and Miranda McGinnis. She is also survived by her nephews Cliff (Christina) Sloan and Christopher Sloan; as well as her two great-nieces and great-nephew, as well as a host of friends, many of whom she considered family.

Beverly was born in Tarrant, Alabama on August 25, 1949. She attended Tarrant High School.  Her greatest joy in life came from being a mother and "Grandma" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She selflessly raised four daughters by herself, while she also cared for other people's children daily as a daycare teacher. She loved unconditionally and her home always had an open-door policy for anyone who needed a home. She never missed the opportunity to brag about the accomplishments of her girls and grandkids. In her later years, she was able to enjoy some much-needed leisure time.  She enjoyed daily visits with her friends, going to church in the chapel, playing bingo, going out to eat, traveling and attending a multitude of activities at the Village of Cook Springs.

A visitation and funeral will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Messmer-Goodwin Funeral Home in Warrior, Alabama.  The family will receive friends starting at 11:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m.  A burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.

A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Village of Cook Springs, in Pell City, Alabama.

Beverly's daughters wish to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the staff of the Village at Cook Springs for the love and care they have given to their precious Mama.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the activities department at the Village of Cook Springs.

Serving as pallbearers will be:  Chad Stokes, Logan Stokes, Bobby Foster, Mitchell Porter, Daniel Wesley, and Nathan Bowman.
