Billy Hugh McClellan, age 87, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020. Billy was married to the love of his life, Josephine Jacobs McClellan, for 63 years. He was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Hayden. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1956, in the Korean Conflict. He learned how to farm at the age of 12, planting and raising vegetables, using a mule, and tending livestock. Billy worked at Southeastern Metal Co. in Birmingham for several years, before being employed with Security Engineers, Inc., from which he retired in 2015. Billy was preceded in death by his father, William E. McClellan; mother, Bertha McElroy; sisters, Mary Scheel and Bertha McConnell; and brother, Prince McClellan. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine McClellan; son, Patrick (Janet) McClellan; daughter, Becky (Lee) Hodges; granddaughter, Amanda (Wesley) Self; and sisters, Dolly Ann McKean and Viola (Paul) Graves. A visitation for Billy will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday evening, September 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held the following day at Graves Gap Church in Hayden, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Graves Gap Cemetery.
