Billy Ray Oglesby of Birmingham, Ala. passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 68.

Billy was a big man with an even bigger heart. He loved his kids and grandkids dearly. He looked forward to weekly visits with his son, Brade, where they would talk, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. He enjoyed reading his Bible and connecting with the Lord. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Beatrice Oglesby; and siblings, Johny Oglesby and Janet Massengill.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher and Brade (Misty) Oglesby; and grandchildren, Andy Oglesby, Cheyenne Oglesby, Jasper Wadsworth, James Daniel Wadsworth, and Ruby Wadsworth. 

A visitation for Billy will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, September 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the funeral service, everyone will travel of their own accord to Elvester Cemetery, where we will all reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
