Billy Ray Hill, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Born on April 21, 1949 to Euel Oliver Hill and Ruby Cochran Hill, Billy was the youngest of seven children and the last surviving of his siblings.

A 1967 graduate of Warrior High School, Billy went on to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

On March 30, 1973, he married the love of his life, Rhonda Johnson, and together they were blessed with two children, Jeremy Ray Hill (Leigh) and Mandy Hill Reid (Mike).

He was the proud grandfather to Trevor Hill (Ashton), Ty Reid (Kylie), Autum Cox (Tyler), and Anna Cox (Alex).  His love extended to his four great grandchildren, Evelyn Cox, Gracyn Capoccia, Housten Cox, and Kason Cox.  He was also joyfully awaiting the arrival of his fifth great grandchild.

His love also extends to three precious great grandbabies who were lost too soon but will never be forgotten.  There is comfort in knowing that they are being held by their Papa in Heaven.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 24, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Cane Creek Cemetery following the service.
