Billy Gene Staton, age 88, of Morris, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Mr. Staton was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He spent his life serving the Lord as a minister, preaching often at Church of the Air in Trafford, Alabama. He loved to preach street services and hand out tracts. Mr. Staton was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Staton; parents, Orin and Bertha Staton; brother, Marvin Staton; and grandson, Matthew Hallmark. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Staton; daughters, Wanda Hallmark (Jerry), Donna Bostick (Jimmy), Debra Sullins (Tim); step-daughters, Susie Lockhart and Regina Watson; sons, Billy Staton Jr. and Keith Staton; step-son, Darryl Chamblee; brothers, Frank Staton (Peggy) and Earl Staton (Debbie); grandchildren, Nikki Barnes (Roy), Harold McCay (Tara), Edmond Doss (Angela); great-grandchildren, Austin Barnes and Madison McCay; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Due to COVID health concerns, there will be just a private graveside service for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Church of the Air 9017 5th Ave, Trafford, AL 35172  in honor of Mr. Staton and his love for the Lord and the church.
