Bobby Johnson, age 85, of Warrior, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024. Bobby grew up in Blount County, Alabama, and worked at Birmingham News Co. for almost 40 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and being on his John Deere tractor. He was very proud of his family, and loved each and every one of them. He also loved Alabama football, basketball and ladies' softball, as well as Atlanta Braves baseball. Bobby was a wonderful husband and a kind man to all. He loved his morning breakfast with friends at Jack's in Warrior, AL. Bobby will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him, so much more than words could ever say.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Mary Helen Gurley Johnson; daughter-in-law, Tammy Skinner Johnson; brother-in-law, Bob Dunavent; father and mother-in-law, Alvin and Irene Chappell Russell; sisters-in-law, Brenda Russell Syx and Nancy Russell; brother-in-law, Jimmy Russell; nephew, Allen Cole; very special friends, Gary Reid and Gary Pate; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Russell Johnson; sons, Stephen W. Johnson, Randy Joe Johnson (Darlene), and Clint Johnson (Julie); sister, Betty Johnson Dunavent; his furry little buddy, Toby Johnson; grandchildren, Mandy Johnson (Mike), Matt Johnson, Nicholas Johnson (Katie), Andy Johnson (Barbara), and Andrea Johnson Roberts (Keith); great-grandchildren: Levi Johnson (Alana), Luke Johnson (Lexi), Grace Snider Mixon (Colby), McKenzie Snider, Joshua Snider McWiliams, Kaydence Johnson, Cody Johnson (Katie), Mia Johnson, Joslyn Johnson, Seth Johnson, Aubree Roberts, Adalyn Roberts, and Anslee Roberts; great-great-grandchildren: Lennox Snider, Luxton Snider, John Baker Snider, Kayson Mixon, Korbin Mixon, and Kambree Mixon; niece, Jane (Paul); nephews, Victor (Bohki) and Mike (Linda); great-nieces, Lauren and Kristen; and great-nephews, John, Cory and Iann.

There will be Memorial Service for Mr. Johnson at The Storm Shelter, 309 Trafford Rd, Warrior, AL 35180 from 2:00-4:00 Sunday July 14, 2024.
