Bonnie
Wilemon
Aug 24, 1937 — Jul 13, 2023
Hayden
Bonnie Thomas Wilemon, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the evening of July 13, 2023. She was born on August 24, 1937 in Blount County, Alabama where she lived most of her life. Bonnie was the seventh of
twelve children born to Herman and Sarah Tumlin Thomas who preceded her in death. She graduated from Hayden High School in 1956 and soon after began working at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Birmingham, AL. She met the love of her life at
a gospel singing and they were married on July 12, 1958. Together they served the Lord faithfully through various ministries as founding members at Gethsemane Baptist Church. In recent years she enjoyed worshiping at Oak Grove
Baptist Church and Valley Head Baptist Church, where she made many new friends and faithful prayer warriors. Bonnie was an outstanding cook who loved serving others and was employed for many years by Blount County Board of Education as a school nutrition service worker. Additionally, she loved planning, preparing, and hosting an annual July singing event in her home as well as baking cakes, cookies, candies, and goodies to sell and often give away at Gardendale North Arts Council events. If you were blessed to be able to visit in her home, she would extend a warm welcome and insist you have something to eat and if you were a grandchild or great grandchild, you could do no wrong!
