Braxton Detrent Murphree, age 28, of Warrior, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.

Braxton is preceded in death by his mother, Lara Hill; grandparents, Jim and Pat Murphree; great-grandmother, Joyce Wardan; and uncle, Lamar Murphree.

He is survived by his father, Shannon Murphree; son, Lux Murphree; fiancée, Madison Aguilar; grandparents, Donnie and Judy Hill; and aunt, Gayla Hill; as well as a host of extended family members, and friends whom Braxton considered to be his family.

Braxton's main pride and joy was his son Lux, which he adored and loved unconditionally. He felt most free on his bike. He loved taking something that was broken and making it work 10x better. He always loved having a project to tinker with. He loved going to the beach and hanging out with his friends. He always had to have his Gushers and Welch's strawberry fruit snacks. Braxton was a chicken wing fanatic, and loved grilling out and cooking. He liked to think he was a grill connoisseur. He was a great father, son and fiance. Braxton never met a stranger. He loved life and always did what he could to live it to the fullest. He loved music and loved to sing Karoke. He loved to live in order to live to love. Overall one of the nicest and most caring people that you could ever have the privilege of meeting in a lifetime. Fly high, Braxton. We pray that you watch over and keep all of us safe. You are gone but never forgotten. Love you - Pop, Lux & Maddy.

Prior to cremation, a visitation and viewing will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be a visitation only, no funeral service to follow.
