Burl Alvin Hall, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on August 5, 1955, Burl spent most of his life working as a brick mason, a profession that reflected his strong work ethic and pride in doing a job well. He was never one to shy away from hard work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Burl had a lifelong passion for fishing and found great joy on the water, whether he was casting a line himself or sharing his knowledge with others. He believed in teaching what he knew and was always eager to help the next generation learn. More than anything, Burl loved his family and friends. He had a tough exterior and wasn't afraid to speak his mind, but those who knew him best understood that his honesty came from a place of love. His loyalty, generosity, and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Burl's legacy lives on through the family and friends who will forever cherish the memories, lessons, laughter, and love he shared. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Burl was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt O'Neal Hall and Zelda Mary Anderton-Hall; and his son, Ricky O'Neal Hall.

He is survived by, brother, Byran "Moose" Hall (Donna Hall), daughters; Niki Marsh (Corie), Shelia McClain, Shelby Niblett, grandchildren; Hadley Marsh, Waylon Hall, Justice Churchwell, Zac Madison, Kelsey Madison, Harley McClain.

There will be a visitation for Burl at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Monday, July 27, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.. Funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Sulphur Spring Cemetery.
