Carol Wash, age 75, of Gardendale, Alabama, received eternal healing Monday, May 16th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonzo and Inez Woods; husband, William "Bill" Wash. She is survived by her children, Todd (Marsha) Majors, Brian (Cheryl) Odom, Sherry (Steve) Boehm; grandchildren, Brooke Majors, Kennedy Taylor, Caroline Majors, Jessica (Colby) Robertson, Sara Odom, Nick Odom, Kody (Tyler) Reece, Kristen Boehm; three great-grandchildren; other beloved family and friends. Carol loved the Lord, and her faith was the foundation of her life. After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1989, Carol leaned on her faith to navigate the rest of her days. She was a true fighter and survivor, never giving up or giving in to her illness. Her life was a shining example of peaceful determination and consistent strength. Without complaining she adapted to life, developed routines,and got the most out of each day -sending a firm message to MS that she would never quit. Carol was an avid crafter, especially loving cross-stitch. Her creative eye could find ways to uniquely repurpose and reuse everyday items. She particularly enjoyed God's creation of flowers, sand dollars, hummingbirds, and several pets over the years. Carol was respected for her smart money management. Her husband would say, "Carol can rub two nickels together and get a quarter." Her family will greatly miss her, but have peace knowing she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The family will receive friends and extended family in the chapel Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at New Canaan Cemetery, Empire, Alabama.
