Mrs. Carolyn McKay Buchanan, formerly of Blountsville, Alabama,  passed peacefully away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The family will receive friends at her home church, New Bethel Baptist Church (Warrior, AL) from 10:00 a.m.12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2023. A graveside service and interment will follow at 12:00 in the adjoining cemetery.

Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Buchanan; parents, Price and Thelma McKay. She leaves behind her children, Tracy Lester, Lonnie David McGowan, Robin Thompson, Lisa Thompson, Bobby Buchanan, Alan Buchanan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a host of family and friends.

Carolyn Buchanan was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed watching and rooting for the Crimson Tide football team. She loved her snack foods! Before becoming physically disabled from arthritis, she attended New Bethel Baptist Church for many years.
