Celestine E. Cato, of Warrior, Alabama, passed peacefully into eternal rest May 11, 2021. She was born December 15, 1932, to Audie and Pauline Newton. Celestine loved the Lord and was a godly woman. She was a long-standing member of Warrior Church of God. She worked as a beautician at her own hair salon in the Warrior area for over thirty years. She took pleasure in her beautiful flowers and found great joy in cooking and preparing food for her family. Celestine Cato was preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Pauline Newton; her husband, J. L. Cato; children, Amanda Honeycutt, and James Cato; several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, William Cato; daughter-in-law Dana Cato; son-in-law, Reed Honeycutt; grandchildren, Jeff Cato, William Cato, Jr., Janie Cato, Celestine Thomas,  Dustin Honeycutt, and Andrew Honeycutt; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Newton; sister, Imogene Nunn. A visitation for Celestine will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Stewart's Chapel Cemetery.
