On Thursday, May 26, 2022, we lost Charles William Shepherd. He was born in Tennessee on November 7, 1958. Charles is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan Shepherd; his sons, Phillip & Christopher Shepherd; grandsons, Dominic & Noah Shepherd; mother, Mary Shepherd; brothers, Jimmy Sailor, James, Kenneth, and Glen Shepherd; sister, Dawn Sutton; as well as all of their families and all of his many brothers and sisters in Christ. He will be greatly missed by so many people. He worked for AT&T for 43 years, was a song leader, deacon elder and so many other things in the churches of which he was a part. Of all the things he did, some of his greatest passions were song leading and preaching, the mission trips to Jamaica and all of the people he met and helped there in and around Jacks River, and Racecourse. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday June 4, at 2:00 pm at Decatur Highway Church of Christ - 1750 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071. As one of his greatest passions was singing, we will be celebrating his life with song. We also encourage anyone who would like to tell a story or lead a song to do so.
