Chong Hui Yun of Hayden, Ala. passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the age of 87.

Chong was preceded in death by her parents, Im duk Kang and Ye Han; and her husband, Kwon Sop Yun. 

She is survived by her sister, Yunny Manning; children, Suzie (Gene) Sorensen, Jessica Willingham, Jin (Steve) Cruce, Jack (Jayne) Yun, and Suk (Peter) Chang; grandchildren, Jason (Najwa) Brown, Sarah (Daniel) Kreiss, Taylor (Reed) Massengill, Jordan (Zach) Turner, Zoe Chang, Noah Chang, Jackson Yun and Jensen Yun; and great-grandchildren, Noemi Brown, Nhari Brown, Jaxon Brown, Nemia Brown, Keanu Kreiss, Levi Massengill, Luke Massengill, and Rolan Cruce.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22. The family will receive guests in the chapel of the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Immediately following the funeral service, everyone will travel of their own accord to Morris Cemetery, where we will reconvene graveside for a brief committal service prior to interment.
