Cindy Lou Patterson, age 82, of Bessemer, AL passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Cindy was a wonderful mom who loved her family, and most importantly she loved Jesus. She was married to her sweetheart for 49 years, until his death in 2005. Cindy was a member of Trafford Church of God and attended Warrior Church of God for many years. She currently attended Grace Life Baptist Church in McCalla. She loved gardening, sewing, and helping others. Cindy was preceded in death by her sons, Marlon Patterson and Keith Patterson; husband, Kenneth Patterson; parents, Chester and Mary Niblett; sister, Patricia Niblett; and brother, David Niblett. She is survived by her daughters, Karla Patterson and Gayla Mayfield (Mark); grandchildren Sara House (Phillip), Sandy Stockley (Mandy), Brandy Patterson and Kyle Patterson; great-grandchildren, Justin Hall, Ada Crumpton and Morgan Cantrell (Gabe); brother, Edgar Niblett (Nellie); brother-in-law, Billy Patterson (Barbara); sister-in-law, Catherine Niblett; nieces and nephews, Vince Niblett, Randall Niblett, Rhonda Niblett, Perry Brigmond (Debbie), Pamela Brown (Danny), Leman Patterson, Veronica Brewer, and Nancy Sisson; and cousin, Rudy Norman. Special mention and heartfelt thank you to Cindy's caregivers, who helped care for her throughout the years: Yolanda Davis, Donna Harris, Vickie and Shawn Hamer, Doris Armstrong, and Michelle with Alabama Hospice. A visitation for Cindy will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, December 19, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Trafford Cemetery.
