Clarence M.
Urick
Aug 7, 1941 — Jul 7, 2023
Kimberly
Clarence Marvin Urick, 81, of Kimberly Alabama died on Friday, July 7, 2023 at UAB Hospital due to health complications after surgery. He was born on August 17, 1941, in Birmingham, Alabama. He lived and attended school in Tarrant City, Alabama. He worked for over fifteen years in the steel industry, and then for over twenty years in the transportation industry. Clarence loved Alabama football, a passion that began when he was young, and did not end until his passing. Watching the game on Saturdays was his favorite pastime, and after that he would watch the after show with Coach Bear Bryant and most currently with Coach Nick Saban. His enthusiasm and excitement for the game passed down to his children and grandchildren. They cheer and whoop when the team plays well, and yell and cry when they don't. Clarence was never passive in life or in a game, and neither are his family. Clarence loved the outdoors and was always outside mowing the yard, or going fishing. He would take family boating at the lake, and go skiing. Later in life, and with a couple of friends, he shared a "hunting club" in Perry County where he could hunt and fish, and plant a garden and harvest it. After retirement, this was his favorite place to be, and where he was most happy and content. Rest in peace Clarence; you will be missed. Clarence is survived by his children, Rebecca Warnix, Sherry Johnson and Johnny Urick; grandchildren, Donald Thompson, Michael Urick, Jerry Pierce, and Melea Johnson; great-grandchildren, Addison Thompson, Tyler Neas, Darren Pierce, Anna Urick, Fillip Urick, and Dylan Neas; and extended family members, Shadrick Adams, Ty Trammell, Anna Pounds, Andrew Trammell, Belle Trammell and Bentley Adams. A memorial service for Clarence will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, July 16, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
