Obituary

Clark Baxter Armstrong 1/18/1940 - 1/2/2021

Callie Beatrice Armstrong 12/22/1939 - 1/6/2021

Clark and Bea Armstrong went home to be with the Lord the first week of January, 2021. They were married for 61 wonderful years. They raised 5 children and helped raise 10 grandchildren and their great-grandchildren, whom they loved more than life itself. They devoted 42 years of their life to caring for their son, Jimmy, who will now be cared for by his siblings, in honor of their parents. They loved taking trips to Gatlinburg with their niece, Sandy, and her husband, Sonny. The family would like to thank all of those who have called, prayed, sent food and flowers, and helped with Jimmy in the past couple of weeks. This has been the most difficult time of our lives and we appreciate all of the support that we have been given. Although this was their wish to go together, because they said they couldn't live without one another, this has been extremely difficult losing them both. If anyone ever deserved to have their prayer answered, though, it was them. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Pearl Armstrong; brothers, Walter and Jesse Armstrong; and sister, Lilly Holsomback. Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Epps and Lettie Johnson; brothers, Marvin, Louie, Kenneth, and Alfred Johnson; sisters, Dorothy Adams, Bert Cvitonavich, Let Dutton, Daler Thomas, Judy Clayton and Etta Garland. Clark and Bea were preceded in death by their son-in-law, Jeff Lang. Clark and Bea are survived by their sons, Jimmy, Darryl (Ronda), and Steve (Jill) Armstrong; daughters, Tammy Lang and Tonya (Michael) Fetner, grandchildren, Anthony (Morgan) Armstrong, Tabitha (Ryan) Guthrie, Tara (Britt) Hughes, Dustin (Miranda) Armstrong, Bobby (Kristen) Lang, Teresa Lang, Kristen (Corey) Hart, Lilly Rooker, Reagan Armstrong, and Reece Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Brylee, Rory, Conner, Tralyn, Tamryn, Linley, and Tynslee; Bea's sister, Vera Stalkman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. A visitation for Clark and Bea will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service for Clark and Bea will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, January 16, at 2:30 p.m. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery. If anyone wishes to make a donation for Jimmy's continuing care, you may do so by contacting People's Bank and giving them Jimmy's name.
