Cletus Hopkins, age 80, of Hayden, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Cletus is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Hopkins. He is survived by daughters, Kelly Armstrong (Jimmy) and Lisa Adkins (Greg); grandchildren, Sommer Bradshaw, Holly Cannon, Monica Armstrong, Kyndal and Logan Coffey, and Micah Adkins; and eight great-grandchildren. Cletus had a love for music at a very young age.  He specifically loved country music with a strong emphasis on the pedal steel and rhythm guitar. He made many friends over the years, some of those friends are legends in the steel guitar community. He and Sherry made it a point to attend many of the steel guitar conventions. He would video almost every show and took thousands of photographs. He loved doing that! The musicians loved having the opportunity to get copies.  He always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart.  I'm sure he is already reunited with those who have gone before him, roaming the streets of gold pickin' & grinnin'.

A visitation will be held for Cletus on Friday, October 18, from 6:00pm- 8:00pm, at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held the following day at 11:00 am, also at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Graves Gap Cemetery.
