Obituary

Connie Leslie Lewis, age 63, of Warrior, Alabama, was born January 7, 1959 and went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas Melvin Leslie, Irene Barnett Leslie, Arthur Renee Bright, and Elvie Mae Bright; her father, Donald Leslie. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joe Lewis; her two children, Allie and Alex Lewis; her mother Barbara Jean Leslie; her sister Donna and husband Kenny Polson, and brother Arthur Leslie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; her fur baby Annie and her three grand-dogs. Connie retired from Bellsouth/At&t Advertising after working there for 30+ years.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, Connie also loved going on adventures, reading, and serving others. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which Connie shared with those who surrounded her. Family always came first and was above all else. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Connie's life was dedicated to the service of others. She was an active member of Hayden United Methodist Church. There she served in numerous leadership and children's ministry teaching positions. Additionally, she dedicated numerous hours in Hayden Primary and Elementary Schools helping students who struggle to read. Connie was an advocate to anyone she felt needed a voice or was going through a difficult time in their life. Connie lived her life to serve others and tried to make at least one person smile everyday.

Visitation will be held in the chapel at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home Saturday, December 17 from 10:00-12:00 p.m., with her funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. The service officiants will be Brother Don Mauldin and Brother Tim Sartain.
