Mrs. Correne Rose Lewis, age 97, formerly of the Hayden area, went to be with the Lord January 2, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lewis; parents, Walter and Ada Millican; brother, Carl Millican; sisters, Venita Gardner, Edrell Watson, Wynell Neely, Nora James. She is survived by her daughter, Lanelle Daily; sons, Wayne Lewis (Dianne), Don Lewis; granddaughters, Cristee Startley (Lane), Cheryl Fitts (Scott); grandsons, Scott Lewis (Amanda), Matthew Lewis (Tonya), Eric Lewis (Jessica); eleven great-grandchildren. Correne was a founding member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Hayden, Alabama, where she attended and served for many years. She loved flower and vegetable gardening, and also enjoyed quilting and other needlework. She was a loving mother and grandmother. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Gethsemane Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama.
