Coy David Cherry, age 95, of Pinson, Alabama, passed away February 11, 2022. He was a long time member and deacon of Sharon Baptist Church. A proud World War II vet, Mr. Cherry served in the United States Navy. He was cofounder of Cherry Brothers Construction, and a dedicated husband and father. Known to many as "Granddaddy," he will be missed by all who loved him.  He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Leolia Cherry, his parents, David and Lillie Cherry, and brother, Vernon Cherry. Mr. Cherry is survived by his sons, Michael Cherry (Diane), Randy Cherry (Cathy), Steven Cherry (Cindy); daughter, Anita Treschan (Miles); nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 12:00 P.M., at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, Warrior, Alabama. Visitation from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the chapel one and one-half hours prior to funeral service. Interment will be at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Pinson, Alabama.
