David Wayne Gaither of Hayden, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at the age of 66. David was born in Birmingham, Ala. on March 18, 1960. He proudly served as a SGT in the United States Marine Corp. from 1978 to 1984. He worked as an electrician all around the southeast until his retirement just a few years ago.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Paul Gaither and Louise Vise; and siblings, Ken Gaither, Janice Wilcox and Judy Gaither. He is survived by his wife, Sandra H. Gaither; children, John Fenstermaker, Brook Carnes, Judy McCown, Jill Johnson, Amanda Gaither, Rachel Gaither, and Sam Gaither; and grandchildren.

The family plans to hold a memorial service at a later date, and we will update this obituary with that information once it becomes available. Thank you.
