David Edwin McCombs, "Peanut," age 71, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2024.

Peanut was a member of CrossRoads Baptist Church, and a father figure to anyone who needed one. He loved Alabama football - ROLLTIDE! And also loved hunting and fishing. But most of all, David loved the Lord and his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Alene McCombs; and siblings, Ross McCombs (Linda), Jack McCombs, and Mona Bannister. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheila McCombs; children, Kevin McCombs (Allyson), Stephanie Pate (Tim); son-in-love, Chris Robinette (Lisa); grandchildren: Anna (Joey), Shelby, Davey, Joshua, James David; grandson-in-love, Colin; brother, Collis McCombs (Karen); as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation for David will be held at CrossRoads Baptist Church on Thursday, January 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery, We will not be traveling in a formal procession to the cemetery, so you may leave the church ahead of the hearse and we will all reconvene graveside for the committal service.
