Dennis Ray Bales, age 77 of Kimberly, Alabama, entered peacefully into eternal rest, March 1, 2023.

Dennis loved his family.  He loved his grandsons very much and has always been involved in their lives.

Dennis was in the army for three years following high school graduation. After the army, he worked for GAC Finance, Serra Chevrolet and the Small Business Administration.  He retired after 30 years with the SBA ten years ago. After he retired he started to play golf.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Anna Lee Bales; daughter, Ellen Bales Tolbert; and sisters, Louise Murphy, Betty Falls, Shirley Edwards and Margaret Sue Truxell.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Mullins Bales; grandsons, Jerry Trent Tolbert and Nicholas Adam Tolbert; brother, Jerry David Bales; nephews, Tyrone Murphy, John T. Edwards, Wesley Truxell, and Jason Bales; nieces, Fawn Murphy Wilkinson, Sue Ann Marie Jewski, Vita Truxell Bryant and Jerra Bales Rosine, and son in law Evan Tolbert.

A visitation will be held in the chapel at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be held at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
