Derick C. Posey, age 59, Kimberly, AL, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. He is proceeded
in death by his dad, Adam Posey, brother-n-law, Billy O. Brooks, and nephew, Adam Clinton
(Clint) Brooks. He is survived by his mother, Anita Posey, his loving wife of 38 years, Sheila
Palmer Posey, two sons, Andy and Mitch Posey, one sister, Lynn Brooks and one brother, Clarke
Posey (Marilyn). And a host of family and friends.

Derick was a member of Elvester Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a
graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School – Class of 1982. He was the owner of Posey's Garage
for 25 plus years along side his dad. He was employed with Jefferson County Department of
Transportation for 18 years. His favorite past time was working on cars and he loved animals
and they loved him. His Pride and Joy was his family, especially his wife and two amazing sons
who he raised to work hard and to do many things as he did.

Derick was always the "Helping/Lend a hand" for anyone who asked or even if they did not. He
had a gift when it came to working on most things, especially if it had a motor. He would help a
stranger on the street, stranded. He will be remembered by all as a great husband, father and
friend to many.

Derick's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone for your thoughts and
prayers, and request that you continue to do so.

Visitation will be at Elvester Baptist Church (1322 Elvester Rd., Warrior, AL ) Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery.
