Obituary

Donna Burnett Vaughn, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Donna was born to C.H. and Hazel Burnett on May 18,1951. Donna graduated from West End High School in the class of 1969. Over the years, Donna worked at Bolin Reeves Florist, Davis Wholesale Florist and lastly, until her retirement, she worked at UAB Health Services Foundation. Most recently, Donna attended Church 29:11 in Morris, Alabama. Donna was an avid reader who, on most days, could be found with a good book in her hand, whether it was at home, on her lunch hour, or just sitting on the beach. Donna adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family. She made many trips at any hour of the day or night to support her grandchildren, whether it be in sports, band, or scouting activities. Donna loved to travel. She especially enjoyed trips to the beach, Walt Disney World, and cruising all ports of call with her family and friends. Donna loved her Lord, and when she was able, she loved to go to Bible study, to help her continue to grow in her faith. Donna's body has been made whole. She feels no more pain, no more sorrow, and there's no longer a separation from her and her Heavenly Father, in whom she placed her trust. Donna has made the journey of a lifetime to join her family and friends who have gone on before her. Today she has a more beautiful view than any earthly eye has ever seen. Today she is at peace.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Hazel Burnett; and husband, James W. "Billy" Vaughn. She is survived by her children, Mike Vaughn (Kim), Lee Vaughn (Kim), Leslie Belcher (Kyle), and Chris Vaughn (Jenny); grandchildren, Tyler (Allison), Brandon, Brodie, Zac, Gracie and Miya; great-granddaughter, Blake; siblings, Ronnie Burnett and Connie Calvert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
