Doris J. Cox, 78, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Ms. Doris was a very religious woman and joined and became a member of Stewart's Chapel.  She also enjoyed the piano and playing gospel music.  She was a great cook, and crafty with her sewing and beadwork.

Doris is preceded by her parents, Daniel and Velma Washburn; husband, Dalton Ray Cox and two sisters, Linda and Sarah.

She is survived by her daughters, Darlene (Randy) Johnson and Dannet Pineda; grandchildren, Nick (Dana) Johnson, Andrew (Barbara) Johnson, Leslie (Justin) Romine and Andrea (Keith) Roberts; 7 great grandchildren; sister, June (Larry) Armstrong, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 11:00am also at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.  Burial will be at Rice Chapel cemetery and Brother Jeffery Ingle will officiate.
