It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother/Memaw, Aunt and Friend. Though words can hardly express the impact left behind, we honor the legacy and cherish the memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

Life of Meaning

Dorothy Jean Crawford, aged 79, passed away peacefully on Friday September 19, 2025, in Winfield, AL. She was born on February 28, 1946, in Warrior, Alabama to Lilly Mae and Monroe Thomas. Dorothy lived a life full of kindness, generosity, and love for those around her.

Family and Loved Ones

Dorothy was a devoted parent to Daryl Keith Crawford (Tammy) and Cheryl Ford (Tobby), grandparent to 5 grandkids, great-grandparent to 5 kids, and a great-great grandparent to 2kids. She is preceded in death by her youngest son Jeffery Carl Crawford and the love of her life Clarence Daryl Crawford. Her family and friends will remember her for hard work, unwavering support, and gentle spirit.

A Legacy Remembered

She started out as a homemaker and loved to sew. She made clothes for her kids to save money, creating dresses, pajamas, shirts, and jackets. When she worked outside the home, she was employed at Royal Cup until she retired. She enjoyed crocheting, watching her kids participate in sports events, listening to Elvis's music, and going to church. She was married to the love of her life for 47 years. She retired to spend time with him, but God had other plans. She has spent her retirement with her adored dogs, Jake and then Bo.

Final Farewell

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday September 24,2025, at 1:00, with visitation beginning at 11:30 at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home, 225 Dana Rd., Warrior, AL. All who knew and loved Dorothy are welcome to attend and celebrate her life. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
