Douglas "Buddy"
Doss
May 22, 1937 — Jul 14, 2022
Warrior
Rev. Douglas (Buddy) Doss went to his eternal home Thursday, July 14, 2022. Our hearts are broken. We dearly loved the times that Buddy came into our home and how he shared where the love of God had taken him in his ministry and wanted to hear how God was moving in our lives. He encouraged us to walk closer to God each day. We all were drawn to him because the presence of the Lord and the Holy Spirit could be felt whenever he visited. Praying together about our current needs, we felt God's peace linger long after he had left. During a recent gathering, he prayed that doors would be opened for him to be able to continue to minister. However, as his health declined, it was obvious that the Holy Spirit was preparing him to end his race and recieve his robe and crown in his heavenly home...to be face to face with his blessed Lord and Savior. He often spoke of the great family reunion that would occur each time a family member made it to heaven. Today, as we grieve over the void that has entered our lives, Buddy is made whole and rejoicing before God, the heavenly hosts and all of the redeemed who have gone on before. Thank you, Rev. Doss, for a lifetime of service spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. You will always be in our hearts, and we look forward to the day that we, too, will be in the presence of God and worship our Lord and Savior with you. Until we meet again, you will be dearly missed. Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Doss; parents, Lonnie and Lois Doss; Son, David Doss; grandson, James Doss; stepson, Randy Christner; Sister, Dorothy Fay Southern. He is survived by his Son, Doug Doss; stepson, J.R. (Jennifer) Christner; 3 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy (Lenora) Doss; sister, Shirley Thomas; a host of family and friends. Family will receive friends at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17 from 1:00- 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Liberty Minter Cemetery in Morris, Alabama.
