Obituary

Dustin Chase Nix, a Hayden High Graduate, passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident on May 20, 2022. He was 20 years old.

Dustin had a passionate love for long rides on back country roads, Buffalo Wild Wings, and hanging with his best friends. But, his most favorite pastime was pulling pranks on those close to him. Dustin inherited his love of practical jokes from his Granny Sloan. He kept people on their toes not knowing what he would pull next. Being a mischievous prankster was a dubious task, but he was up for the challenge. Kasie was not immune to his tricks, but OH how he loved her. He wanted the world to know that he was "the luckiest kid in the world to be able to call her Mom".

Dustin was preceded in death by his PawPaw Donald Sloan, Great Grandparents JoAnn and Gene Sloan, Great Granny Joyce Barton, and bio father BJ Nix.

He is survived by his Nanny Mary Sloan, Papa Casey Barton, Grandma Patti and Pops Larry, his parents Kasie and Ashley Sloan, his sisters Hannah (Ricky), Summer (Devin), Payton, Kaylee, and Trinity, niece Cambree, nephews Ashton and Baylon, his absolute best buds Dylan Scott, Alex Payne, Nick Woods, and Alex Joyal, as well as the love of his life, long time girlfriend, Harleigh Colvin. He is also leaving behind many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

A visitation for Dustin will be held at Messemer Goodwin Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm. Immed to follow at Cane Creek Cemetery in Warrior.
