Eddie Best, age 72, formerly of Corner, Alabama,  passed away to his eternal rest, Monday, July 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. and Opal Gilbert Best; brother, Richard William Best. He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte A. Best; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Kim Best; Daughter and son-in-law, Ashlee Best and Brian Spaeth; grandson and grand-daughter-in-law, Chase and Brook Best; grandsons, Tanner Best; Cole Jones; granddaughters,Skyler Best, Averlee Spaeth; sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Walter Smith; nieces and nephews; other relatives, and a host of friends.

Eddie Best was  a U. S. veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from Set. 4, 1970-June 4, 1973. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where he worked and served as a deacon, a member of the cemetery committee, and on the building and grounds committee.He was a Free Mason. Eddie retired from U. S. Steel, and ran his own business, Best Heating and Cooling. Eddie was a true outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting, and being out in nature.One of the things that stood out most about Eddie Best to everyone was his love and devotion to his family, friends, and to his Savior. He poured his heart into those three things, never wavering, never failing.

The family will receive friends at New Bethel Baptist Church (Warrior Jasper Road) Wednesday, July 12 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the church immediately following visitation, Rev. Gary Creel and Rev. Danny Tesseneer officiating. Interment will be at New Bethel Cemetery.
