Edgar Elvertis Morgan, age 89, of Hayden, Alabama passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

Edgar was preceded in death by his parents, Una Elvertis Morgan and Frances Catherine (Wilson) Morgan; his first wife, Mary Sue Morgan (Perry); stepson, Charles Blackwell; siblings, Shirley Morgan, Linda Nelson, Mary Morgan, Eugene Morgan, Junior Morgan, Danny Morgan; and nieces, Rita Cox and Robbie Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Nell; children and step-children, Michael Morgan (Vikki), Ricky Morgan, Cindy Daniel (Eddie), Lisa Blackwell (Cheryl) and Misty Brown (David); 10 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Donald Wayne Morgan and Patricia Petry (Gary); as well as 8 nieces and 12 nephews.

Edgar loved his family, and was a loyal fan of Alabama football. He loved to watch westerns and gameshows. For a while he enjoyed making birdhouses and other woodcrafter items. Edgar and Jimmie Nell put together numerous puzzles over the years. Prior to retirement, he worked as a foreman for Jim Dandy, and for Jazz Dog Food. He also worked for Altec and as a school bus driver. Edgar was a member of Hayden Faith Church of the Nazarene. He loved the Lord, and served his church in various ways over the years. He was especially fond of his buddies Ron Moody, Larry Little, Tom Benton, and Joe Dunne. Edgar loved to laugh and always had a smile and kind word for anyone who would listen.
