Edna Patterson, age 91, of Morris, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Edna was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a member of Haig Missionary Baptist Church. After retiring from her career as lunchroom manager for Bryan Elementary School, she stayed busy by working around her home. She was still mowing the lawn - with a push mower - well into her seventies! She wanted no help when washing the dishes, and would sweep the floor many times daily. Making sure everyone was fed didn't end with her career as lunchroom manager, as she loved cooking to feed her family, too. She also loved fishing, but wouldn't take a bite out of one! Edna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Thomas Cato; husband, Lloyd "Buddy" Patterson; grandson, Jason Patterson; siblings, Curtis, Edgar, Robert, Joe, Edward, Johnny, and Ottis Cato, Maybelle Smith, and Doris Smith.

She is survived by her children, Jon & Sonia Patterson, and Mike & Jackie Patterson; grandchildren, Christina Glass, Jeremy & Andrea Patterson, and Mark Patterson; great-grandchildren, Breanna & Clint Shadrick, Elliana McKinley, Hilton Patterson, Reese Patterson, and Alissa Glass; great-great-grandchild, Saylor Shadrick; two sisters, Lorene McCreless and Patricia Wheeler; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Mrs. Patterson will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum in Gardendale.
