Edna Faye Goodwin Rivers, age 81, of Hayden, Alabama, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., in Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Faye graduated from Warrior High School, and went on to marry Ernest Lee Rivers. Together they raised their three sons, David, Paul and Mark.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Edna Goodwin; her husband, Ernest Lee Rivers; and her son, Paul Anthony Rivers. She is survived by her two sons, David and Mark Rivers; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Kaufman Rivers; two granddaughters, Crystal Rivers Bullock and Emily Rivers Speakman; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Rivers; 2 great-granddaughters, Sarah and Danielle Bullock;  her sister, Linda Ellison (James); her niece and nephew, Sandra and Scott Ellison; her great-nephew, Landon Ellison; as well as her lifelong friend, Sandra Dobbs.

Faye loved her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed, and remain in our hearts forever.

A visitation and viewing will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30. The family will begin to receive guests in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. The funeral rites will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
