Mr. Eugene Newton, age 82, entered this world on May 1, 1941, and entered his heavenly home on December 18, 2023.

Eugene loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and playing guitar; but most of all, he loved his family and doing anything he could for them. Among other interests, Eugene enjoyed watching westerns and getting to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eugene considered raising all his children his biggest and proudest accomplishment of them all. He was loved by so, so many, and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their appreciation for Holly Godfrey with a very special, heartfelt "Thank You," for her unwavering assistance in caring for Eugene in his final days.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Audie and Georgia Pauline Childers Newton; his loving wife, Pamela Jean Newton; his daughter, Gina Roxanne Newton; four brothers and seven sisters.

He is survived by his children: Robin (Jeff) Mize, Sandra (Ricky) Tanguy, Rhonda (Bobby) Mitchell, Rodney (Sonja) Newton, Ricky (Inga) Newton, Jarod Newton, Jason Newton, Cara Newton Gray, Tara (Patrick) Wood, Amanda Jill (Tony) Malcom, Kevin Newton, and Rebecca Hubbell; grandchildren: Christina, Daniel, Rachel, Aimee, Izaak, Kelsey, Meagan, Brooke, Harley, Kailey, Ricky, Morgan, Madison, Mackenzie, Audie, Britney, Jase, Noah, Tabitha, Grace, Hannah, Micah, Jonah, Sarah and Ivaleigh; as well as great-grandchildren: Chloe Mac Champion, David Justice, Canon Craig, Presley Stanley, Daustin Horn.

The family will receive friends and extended family during a visitation from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow the visitation, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Messmer Goodwin Chapel. Interment will be at Stewart's Chapel Cemetery.
