Heaven is rejoicing in my sorrow as I am saddened to announce the passing of my mother, Florene King, age 83, of Corner, AL, on Friday, May 21. She died peacefully at home, embraced by her surviving children, Pamela Wingo and Jeff Wingo. Ms. King was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Olga Mae King; two sisters, Mary Frances Randolph and Betty Sue Allbritton; two brothers, Carl King Jr. and Earl King; one son, Phillip Wayne Wingo; one grandson, Shannon Wayne Wingo; and one granddaughter, Ashley Brooke Hardin. She is survived by four sisters, Martha Smith, Linda Coker, Judy Walker, and Jane Smith; daughter, Pamela Wingo; son, Jeffrey Wingo; two granddaughters, Sabrina Wingo and Haley Wingo Johnsey; three great-grandsons, Logan B. Wingo, Landon Blevins and Mason Johnsey; three great-granddaughters, Peyton Erica Blevins, Paislee Barnes, and Emma Claire Johnsey; one great-great-grandson, Kash Connison; as well as many more nieces and nephews who loved her very much. A visitation for Mrs. King will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Monday, May 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Good Hope Cemetery.
