Fred Alvin Ramey 89 of Warrior, Alabama passed away February 22, 2024.

There will be a visitation for Mr. Ramey at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment for Mr. Ramey will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Gardendale, Alabama.

He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. Following retirement he worked as a diesel mechanic and finished his career as a security guard.

He was preceded in death by wife Violet Ramey: parents, Harry and Vivian Ramey; sisters, Barbara Ramey, Patsy Kennedy, Shirley Reid; brother, Edward Ramey.

He is survived by his brother-in-law Dr. Sammie Reid and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Heritage Health Care and Rehab Staff for becoming an extended family to "Uncle Fred."
