Gaylon Carl Harris, age 56, of Morris,  Alabama, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 2, 2021. Carl loved his family and friends and was almost always up for visitors, a cold beer and a game of horseshoes. He stood his ground and one thing he said often was, "My house, My rules." Anyone who truly knew him loved and respected him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Gaylon Harris; grandfathers, William Beasley and O.A. Harris; grandmother, Estelle Harris; nephews, Blaine and Dalton Sisco; and his beloved sidekick Scrappy. He is survived by his mother, Malinda Harris (David); sisters, Ginger Jones (Phillip), Gayla Wood (Carl), and Charlene McAlpine (Doug); nephews, Daniel Curry (Rachel), Carl Wood, Zachary Wood, and Bryan McAlpine (Christina); nieces, Terri Speakman, Shey Sisco (Ruble), Carol Weekly (Johnathon), several great-nieces and great-nephews; beloved friend, Eric Boutwell (SouthPaw); as well as other extended family members Renee McMurrey, Brittney Williams, Krystal Harris (B.J.), Tiffney Tracy (Joseph), Dennis McMurrey (Amy), Jacob Fall and Hayley McMurrey. A visitation for Carl will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Monday, June 7, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Morris Cemetery.
