Gene H. Tidwell, 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 6, 2019.

Gene was a man devoted to his family, and would do anything for them.

He is preceded by his parents, Albert and Leola Tidwell, and his daughter, Tammy Tidwell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sadie Tidwell; daughter, Sheila Hooper; two granddaughters, Mandy Taylor (Keith) and Gina Hooper; great grandchildren, Sammy Taylor, Sara Stephens, Kaleb Stephens and Jason Evans.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00am at Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Pinson, Al.  Kyle Hooper is to officiate.
