Harris
Jun 24, 1933 — Sep 6, 2022
Remlap
Geneva Harris, age 89, of Remlap, AL passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. There are many words that can describe Geneva Harris. A devout Christian, an avid singer, world traveler, and jitterbug queen. But above all else, she gave her life to God and her family. She was born to be a mother and a matriarch, and took the job very seriously.. whether that was whipping you with a switch or fearlessly standing up for you, she always did it with love. She had 89 years of singing in the kitchen, dancing with a broom, praying over people at church, and traveling the world. She put everyone above herself, and was always the one you knew was going to be there for you no matter what, whether that be cooking, praying, pranking or crying for you, you knew she was in your corner. So today we say goodbye to the best mother, grandmother, friend and confidant, but today Heaven celebrates the welcoming of the best angel. Geneva was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Harris; and her daughter, Wendy Harris. She is survived by her children, Holly Hamaker (Jimmy), Joel Harris (Scott), Jeffrey Harris, Chuck Harris (Elise), and Loki Wade (Erica); grandchildren, Kevin Hamaker (Shannon), Adam Hamaker (Amanda), Derek Hamaker, Kacie Harris (Ethan), Sheila Abbott (Drake), Simon Wade, Brandi Harris, and Morgan Harris; as well as 8 great-grandchildren. A visitation for Geneva will be held at Love's Crossing Church of God on Friday, September 9, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Carbon Hill Memorial Gardens.
