On the morning of May 5, 2025, George Franklin Holcombe, age 48, went to be with our Lord and Savior.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Verline Holcombe, and his father, Grady Commles Holcombe. He is survived by his sons, Jake, Nick (Rebecca), and Levonzie Holcombe; daughter, Brianna McMahan; grandchildren, Bentley, Maci and Melani Ingle, Oaklyn and Hudson Holcombe; significant other, Tonia Acker (Preston); brothers, Larry (Peggy) Commles; sister, Joyce; aunt, Gail Rock; uncles, Donald (Dot) and Larry (Carolyn) Wright; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

George loved being a Birmingham Firefighter and Paramedic, and spending time with his family and friends.

The visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, May 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for friends, and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for family only. The funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, May 10, also at Calvary Baptist Church. George will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and the funeral service will begin at noon. Immediately following the funeral service, we will travel to New Bethel Cemetery for a brief committal service at the graveside, just before interment.
