Henry "Wayne" Smith, 79, of Bessemer, AL, passed away Monday, July 7, 2019 at UAB hospital surrounded by family.

He was born on October 16, 1939 to Clifton and Mandy Smith.  He was the oldest of 7 children.

Services will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home.  The visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm with a funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Fred Chapman presiding over the service.  Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Mandy Smith; brothers, Red, Jerry and Junior Smith and sister, Frances Raney.

He is survived by his wife Patricia; two children, Tony (Tammy) Smith and Tracy (Claude) Harris; sister, Judy (Dennis) Gilmer and brother, Johnny Smith.

He has 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
