Herbert "Sonny" Neil Writesman, age 77, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Sonny was born on March 21, 1947. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Frye Writesman on October 21, 1966, and together they built a family on hard work and love. Sonny retired from ACIPCO Pipe. He loved his family, fishing, gardening, animals of all kinds, and bowling with his wife and friends. Sonny will be missed by many loved ones and friends, until we meet again with our Lord Jesus.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Murray D. and Margaret F. Writesman; sisters, Pam Harmee and Grace Dalton; brothers, Donald, Gene, David and Robert Writesman; nephews, Mark, Stephen and Michael Writesman; niece, Terry Ann Dalton; and great-granddaughter, Emery Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Writesman;  children, Kevin Writesman (Beth) and Sonya Hicks (Daniel); grandchildren, Shelby Pinyan (Kent), Dakota Hicks (Kaitlyn), Maegan Graham (Creed) and Matthew Writesman (Holly); three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Annette Cox.

A graveside service will be held at Ricetown Cemetery on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow.
