Homer Vaughn Duke "Bud", age 79, of Warrior, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021. Bud was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired from U.S. Pipe, and was a lifelong resident of Blount County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Clara Duke; siblings, Alice Lee Thomas (Hershel), Barney Duke, Dorotha Alexander (Lamar), and Laymoyne Cook. He is survived by his wife, Alice Duke; children, Billy Joe Duke, Carolyn Duke, and Bradley Duke; sister-in-law, Betty Duke; grandchildren, Brandy Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Eli Duke; great-grandchildren, Justin Hall and Ada Crumpton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation for Bud will be held at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Stewart's Chapel Cemetery.
